Support your clients to manage stress and achieve balance with Grid coaching
Are your clients stressed and overwhelmed by life’s competing priorities?
Are they seeking more balance and wellbeing?
Become a balance-oriented Grid coach
This 5-day live, ICF-accredited training course with Dr Magdalena Bak-Maier, Grid creator and master coach-therapist will equip you with the theory and practical tools to help you and your clients become more intentional with time for better outcomes, wellbeing and fulfillment.
The Grid for coaches training brings together a powerful holistic framework, key theories and different modalities (Cognitive, Visual, Auditory, Kinaesthetic, and Spatial) to help you work creatively with clients
Most coaching aims at improving a specific area of a client’s life. But this ignores the fact that the different arenas of our lives are interdependent and affect each other. Making headway in one direction can easily come at the expense of something else. If our clients get stuck in a loop, we might fear that the client’s situation is simply too complex. Have you ever doubted your value as a coach or wished your sessions were more powerful?
The Grid framework supports clients in flourishing across the board by harnessing the power of balance. This powerful and profound way of coaching develops the power of the client’s mind, heart, body and spirit. Grid coaching builds confidence in the coach and helps clients heal.
By joining this training you will learn to coach clients towards powerful gains in life, work, career and self-care, with positive effects that ripple out in all directions.
Learn with a leading practitioner and master teacher in a fun, relaxed and highly nurturing environment.

Module 1: Stepping into the power of balance with the Grid
This module will introduce the importance of balance as a key principle for wellbeing and flourishing, as well as the basic structure of the Grid and how it can be used in coaching to help clients seize the day. The basic premise here is that we’re always met with unknowns of life that present natural anxieties, but it is how we meet them and the meaning we make of them that create our reality. Many clients are either stuck in the past or the future and internally disconnected. Help your clients step into greater agency and power by learning to safely explore what is and how things impact one another, and develop embodied critical self-awareness to support more wholesome choices.
What you’ll learn
Get to grips with using the Grid as a powerful diagnostic and exploration tool to support holistic coaching at different levels (cognition, emotion, somatic, and energetic/spiritual).
Learn to use the Grid to build embodied self-awareness into how the present context impacts the client’s state and how to broaden their choices and possibilities.
Learn to quickly dive into powerful coaching that helps clients notice what works and what needs attention, and what feeds and stifles creativity, emotional expression, mind-body connection, and will. Help uncover unconscious habits and beliefs that keep them stuck and learn a powerful method to evolve them.
Use Day Grids and energy management tools to clarify the impact of specific imbalances and lack of healthy boundaries and support your client in learning to align internally for more empowered being and doing.

Key theories and models
Existential theory
The concept of state and heart, mind, body, and spirit alignment
Flourishing and PERMA model
Case study 1: overwhelm
Module 2: Putting the Grid to work for you and your clients
In this module, you will learn how to underpin big-picture thinking with detail and execution using the ins and outs of the full Grid method. Current emphasis on achievement and status drives imbalance and internal disconnect between mind, heart, body, and spirit. We will explore two theories that provide important context for what drives us forward and how imbalance hides, hinders or stalls progress. We will use Grid-based tools to support forward movement on healthy terms and the power of monitoring and auto-feedback.
What you’ll learn
Deepen our understanding of how mind, heart, body and spirit alignment and the Grid work together.
The ins and outs of the Grid method (home bases, tasks, day/week/month/year).
Different ways to apply the Grid over a week, month and larger timescales to monitor and support progress and positive change.
Using the Grid to pinpoint key motivations and drivers for change and how to assist clients in taking practical steps forward.
Learning to open the mind creatively, expand the heart, introduce more playfulness and spontaneity and reconnect with spirit.
Key theories and models
Self-determination theory
Theory of motivation and habit change
Solution-focused positive psychology
Case study 2: navigating change
Module 3: Understanding the impact of stress and how to ground for grace and poise
The focus of this module will be to support the first two parts of the course with key neuroscience and psychology theories. When we operate outside a critical window of tolerance we all become dysregulated and safety is compromised. Learning to pay attention to both our state and the client’s state quickly connects us to resources for safety, connection, and resilience. This knowledge helps coaches and clients work more effectively by keeping the nervous system grounded, mind and body connected and client integrated. Discover how to tap into the power of a compassionate stance to support effective change and fuel positive self-regard.
What you’ll learn
How to attune to the client’s full nervous system, create conditions for a grounded and well-resourced client and help them return to it.
Learn about early attachment and how this impacts what we give and expect to receive and how to redress the balance including the impact of what’s happened to our clients in the past.
Help clients discover the power of their energetic, cognitive, emotional and embodied intelligence, and how a more aligned presence transforms relationships and outcomes.
How to address client self-sabotage by working with internal conflict between mind, heart, body and spirit and recover alignment.
How to support clients to express into full potentiality with a compassionate, curious and provocatively playful presence and three magic questions.
Key theories and models
Early attachment theory and Polyvagal theory
Self-efficacy theory
Felt sense and energetic work
Case study 3: burnout recovery
Module 4: Using the Grid to create a positive future
This module will help you leverage all the learnings and help clients turn toward their future. We will learn how to support clients in moving closer to their version of a good life in ways that resource and energize them. We will use Grid-based tools to support forward movement and apply these techniques toward projects and specific goal/vision realization. Setting goals takes courage and can be unnerving. Clients often fear success as much as failure. Effective coaching here calls for high-level attunement where we can see and feel the wholeness of our client. Emphasis will be given to the skills needed to create a highly attuned coach-client environment where clients feel safe and able to do their key work, where they feel seen and heard, and where their truth is sacred.
What you’ll learn
How to build resonant visions and clear purpose that can be used as powerful maps to support forward movement using constellation with specific emphasis on orienting and flow.
Understand the process of change and gain critical insights into client’s wise self and shadow to harness their power for growth.
Use physical embodiment techniques and different modalities to support the client in locating the necessary resources to overcome roadblocks and build confidence.
Discover the power of safe play and experimentation to open the client’s world of possibilities, and use joy and spontaneity to help them remain at their learning edge safely.
How your coaching offer reflects your uniqueness.
Key theories and models
Jung’s shadow work
Intentional change theory
Internal Family Systems parts theory
Case study 4: confidence building
Module 5: Learning synthesis and additional practice
This module will bring together all the learning Grid-style highlighting how to use the Grid method to support continuous learning and development of practice as well as professional service. It is designed to provide coaches with an important opportunity to revisit all three strands of the course, consolidate and share their learning, as well as give additional space for triad practice. Many coaching courses often focus on theory but we want to ensure you feel confident in implementing what you’ve learned.
What you’ll learn
Helping clients strengthen an intentional reflective, somatic, emotional and energetic encounter with self, other, and the world.
Consider the energetic difference between controlling, forcing, guiding and flowing.

WHAT LEADING PRACTITIONERS SAY
I attended an integration workshop led by Magdalena at the AICTP conference in January 2018. The whole workshop was incredibly moving and inspiring and reminded me of the importance of paying attention to all parts of ourselves to feel truly integrated.
Not only did I benefit, but so did my fellow workshop attendees, and I have since used the exercises with several of my clients – with profound effects. Thank you, Magdalena.
Dr Ariana Jordan, Chartered Counselling Psychologist
I recently spent a day in the company of 17 others exploring Mind Body Spirit Integration with Magdalena.
Her delightful accomplished style of coaching creates a welcoming safe space where we were able to be honest with ourselves and the other participants, while allowing us to find our centre – true integration. As a gentle model of self enquiry and expansion it’s fun, playful and creative. I recommend it!
I was very happy to have found a date in the diary for Magdalena to deliver a masterclass on resilience in coaching, using her GRID framework, for Coaching at Work, in September 2020, and that I could actually attend too!
Magdalena has a wealth of knowledge and underpinnings so there was a real sense of being in the hands of someone who really knew her stuff, who doesn’t stand still, incorporating new knowledge into her framework. Yet at the same time she was spacious, vulnerable, grounded and humble. I really liked her style.
It was a very useful session- a lot packed in, with a nice balance of input and practice. Thanks Magdalena! We will be back for more 🙂
I had the pleasure of attending a talk/workshop led by Magdalena last week, and it stood out for me amongst all the other good talks at the conference that day.
It was so logically set out and so made me feel I could really just relax and listen to the ideas/techniques being put forward. The concepts were insightful, but also amazingly simple, (I say this as a compliment!) and so I could immediately see how the questions and reflective tools would work well in real-life cases.
I can honestly say that Magdalena’s Get Productive GRID is an invaluable tool.
I have been using it for 6 months now and it has revolutionised my approach to productivity and work-life balance and I use it on a weekly basis. I am no longer reliant on long to-do lists! I love the fact that it’s adaptable and I’ve been able to make it my own, so it works for me, rather than me having to fit into someone else’s system.
It’s great to focus on the things that attract my energy without forgetting the other things I have to do! And most importantly, I’ve stopped feeling guilty about taking time for ‘self-care.’ I highly recommend The Get Productive Grid.
Magdalena is simply incredible! I took The Grid Training course and it was amazing. I have attended her retreats as well on The Grid. The Grid has made possible for me to balance work, purpose and my personal life.
I always was looking for a productivity tool that could help me but I felt that there was something missing and I felt that there were certain things that were missing balance and purpose, the emphasis was a lot on what is urgent and important vs. what matters, her perspective really helps you see the relationship within all areas of life and how your time is utilized effectively. It is an incredible tool.
I also loved during the training to feel that I have Magdalena by my side and the really important coaching questions she will ask. I recommend her amazing work.
